Owen Everett Fallon is here! 8/14/2012

We got to the hospital at 7:00 am on Tuesday, August 14th. I was checked in and induced for labor. Labor started fairly quickly after I was given the Pitocin. My water actually broke at a little after noon. That never happened with Ian. They broke it after I had already had my epidural. Boy what a weird feeling that is! I was continuously checked by my nurse and was actually given oxygen because Owen's heart rate kept slowing. At a little bit after 5:30 pm, my doctor came in to check me and got an odd look on his face. He brought in the ultrasound machine and took a look and found out that Owen was in the breech position. I had a feeling he had been that way for quite a while but never actually said anything except "Are you sure?" when I would be told he was head down. Lesson learned is to ALWAYS trust your instincts. Ironically, Ian and Charles had just left about 30 minutes before to go home and get some dinner and a break from being at the hospital all day long. Now I was in need of an emergency C-Section so I had my mom calling Charles in a panic. Thankfully they waited until they got back to the hospital to take me to the O.R. Charles got dressed in his scrubs and cute little OR cap and they wheeled me into the O.R. My epidural was starting to wear off so they ended up numbing me from the neck down. It was horrible, to put it lightly. My diaphragm was numb so I couldn't feel myself breathing which threw me into a massive panic attack. They also had propped my head up (so I wouldn't choke is my only guess as to why) and placed an oxygen mask over my mouth and nose. I have never been claustrophobic but this was all a bit too much in the state I was in to have all that and my face right up to the curtain. Poor Charles was almost just as panicked. It was only a half hour until little Owen was born and when we heard his cries, I immediately started crying too. I was so happy to get to finally meet my precious baby. Charles was offered to come and see him but he wouldn't leave my side and said he would wait until I could see him as well. He is such a wonderful man. It was amazing to have my baby here and to see and hold him. Although I couldn't feel him that first night (my arms were so numb), we still bonded. It was hell getting him here but. oh so worth it! He is just an amazingly adorable and good little boy. Big Brother Ian has never had a smile so big. He never wanted to leave the hospital but I was only allowed one guest, so he stayed as late as he could. We are all so happy to have Owen with us. Our family is complete :)

Baby Shower with my Girls - August 4, 2012

Keni and Jamie hosted my second baby shower with most of my girls! It was so much fun and the food was fantastic, although not handmade from Pinterest like I had expected from Jamie ;) haha But it was still amazing! I got even more of the stuff that we really need. I am blessed with such great friends and family to surround myself with. No matter how often we talk or see each other, it's like no time has passed. Thank you ladies for everything!

37 weeks

BIG Belly!

Ian turned 11 years old on July 28th. We had his birthday party at Bouncin off the Walls again and he and all of his friends had a blast! Even some of the adults had some fun playing around on the inflatables. ;) There were also a few of the kids, Ian included, that wore the birthday cake. Thanks for that Tanner! ;)
I can't believe my first baby is in his last year of elementary school as a Big Time 6th grader... My how the time passes. So lucky to have such a sweet boy who cares about all around him. He is still very excited to welcome his new little brother in as soon as a couple weeks!

Family Baby Shower - July 21, 2012

My mom and cousin, Mandi, threw me my first baby shower. Mandi hosted at her house which the kitchen was just remodeled and it looks amazing! It has been a stressful time though since my grandmother, Wilma, had a heart attack and was admitted to Sandy Rehab. My Aunt Phyllis' friends pitched in and made all of the food for my shower which was so amazing. It is nice that they knew that no one would have the time since most of us are going to see grandma in our free time. Even through this difficult time, we still managed to enjoy the shower. I got some really cute outfits and stuff that we needed so I am starting to feel a bit better about my fast approaching due date! He has something to wear, we can wipe his bum, diaper and bathe him. It is a start ;) Next is my shower with my friends on August 4th! Bring on the presents!

Total weight gain: 37lbs

Stretch marks? No new ones still!

Sleep: Very uncomfortable

Best moment the past week: Did the Relay for Life last weekend (July 13-14). It was a long night but had a lot of fun with my family and friends.

Movement: Large movements now that can be felt by everyone. Hiccups a lot!

Food Cravings: Fruit Loops are my new favorite cereal

Symptoms: Swelling in my feet and ankles still. Belly is bigger so it is heavier and it makes it harder to breathe.

34 Weeks - Happy 4th of July

It has been one of the HOTTEST summers this year :P This sundress was a welcome addition to my pregnancy wardrobe. We went over to our friends', Rach and Terry's, house for the 4th of July holiday. We bbq'd and did a lot of fireworks. We always have one aerial that decides to come straight at the crowd rather than straight in the air! Thankfully, once again, no one got hurt. We also got to see most of the fireworks being done at the parks from their front yard. It was a great time!
