Vegas Vixens 2008

In February of this year, I went to Las Vegas to meet Sam and her friend, Catherine aka Chaff, for Sam's 30th!! It was so much fun as all of our Vegas Vixen trips have been. I drove down with my friend, Courtney, and her kids and got there around midnight completely spent. Walked into the hotel room and Sam and Chaff were enjoying some champagne that Sam's brother had sent telling me to get ready, we are going out! We ended up at "The Rockhouse" which we nicknamed the "Hallway" because that is literally what it was. We went to Studio 54 one night and Common actually ended up doing an impromptu show. Of course, as much as I love rap (this comment loaded with sarcasm), I had NO idea who he was. Now that I have seen him, I see him EVERYWHERE! Chaff could care less since she was busy putting money into the guy's pants that was dancing on the speaker ;) We spent the rest of the time at the Piano Bar at Harrah's which is highly recommended. What a blast! They were even able to do "Big Butts" for us, and of course, we got to go up on stage for that one! We went to see Blue Man Group as well. Sam and I have seen it a few times while we lived in Boston but it has been years. The Boston show will always be the best since it is one of the originals (and half the price!) but the Vegas show was amazing as well. You can't describe it, you just have to see it! If you try to describe it, people just look at you like you have lost your mind. Our last day in Vegas Sam, Chaff, and I went to Tiffany and Co. so that they could buy some jewelry. Sam got a ring and Chaff bought the bracelet. I had drank and ate all of my money, so I just went along for the company ;) Courtney dropped Sam and Chaff off at the airport and it was very sad to say Goodbye. It is sad enough when a vacation comes to an end but even sadder when you have to say goodbye to a best friend that you are not sure when you will see again. Vegas Vixens forever!!!! Love you Sam!!

Summer 2008

This past summer, my Grandma came down from Idaho for a visit. She stayed with her sister, Hazel and we went over to visit them. Grandma Great is now 98 years young and still feisty. Athough we don't get to see her much, we love her with all of our heart. And Ian really loves to be around her. Of course, he is still 7 years old, so he was "bored" after the first hour of visiting. He did show Grandma and Hazel his transformers and what they can do. But once that was over, it was time to go ;) Ian is the one who took the photos besides the one he is in, of course. He is really good at it. But he gets a lot of practice as we find out when we go through our camera. There are always at least 20 pics of his transformers and other toys on there everytime ;) He takes after his dad, who also loves to take photos.

Timpanogos Cave - Summer 2008

Okay, we are going to go back a little bit. Back to this past summer. Last July I did the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer but before I did that, I had to do a bit of training to get prepared for it (it was 39.3 miles...). Wendi was my training buddy and we did the hike up to Timpanogos Cave. It was May or June and we are all wearing sweatershirts and pants. We even walked past some snow that had not yet melted. It wasn't an easy hike but it was a lot of fun. Everyone knows I am deathly afraid of heights, so that was probably the hardest part for me. Ian was my support and held my hand so that "I wouldn't be scared" ;) That was until a bee flew around us and then he hid behind me ;)

The cave is really an amazing sight and if you live in Utah and have not yet done it, you really should! It is incredible what nature can do on its own with just some water and minerals. It is quite dark in there, I mean it is a CAVE, so when I took pictures, it was blinding! There is a shot of Ian looking up and the flash got him in the eyes. He was not my biggest fan after that ;) I got the "Mom! Stop taking pictures!" But I am glad that I did, even at my son's expense ;)

Good Lord, another password to remember...

Welcome to the Fallon Family blog! Hopefully I will remember my username and password so that this is not my first and last blog... :P

And my display name comes from one of the schoolbooks from Harry Potter, which Charles and Ian are not fans of. But since I am in charge of the blog, I got to choose the name :)

We are just getting ready for Christmas. The tree is up, the lights are outside and I have even bought a couple presents! Now if I could just win X96's X amounts of Xmas cash... :P
